The IRISH GAME FAIR - the showcase event for IRISH COUNTRY SPORTS
When the members of the organising team launched the first major Irish Game Fair in 1978 their objectives included promoting the importance of country sports,
farming and conservation interests working together for the preservation of the Irish countryside and the rural way of life.
Over forty years on that objective, if anything is more relevant, as the whole rural way of life if not threatened with government legislation or political
interference with tradition, is threatened with habitat destruction. There is the need for a strong unified voice to promote balance within the countryside amongst
land users such as farming, building, country sports, conservation and tourism interests.
In this new decade we think it is vitally important that sporting oranisations, clubs and individuals demonstrate to politicians, the media and the general
public that they are PROUD of IRISH COUNTRY SPORTS.
We consider that WE have a very big role to play by delivering the IRISH GAME FAIR as a showcase event for country sports, also the year long THE VIRTUAL
GAME FAIR thevirtualgamefair.com, and by publishing IRISH COUNTRY SPORTS and COUNTRY LIFE, a
quality widely read country sports journal.
YOU can show that you too, ARE PROUD of IRISH COUNTRY SPORTS by supporting us.
